46. “Race” (Suitable for “Where the road leads”, “Upgrading of a bus” and “Ford” case-lessons)

The essence of the game: The necessary elements for the game are track, which can be made of Styrofoam, wood, foam rubber etc., and toy cars approximately equal in size and weight. Each team chooses themselves a car. Then the teams draw lots to decide which track will belong to whom. Then the race is held. The cars are pushed and start moving along the “track”, the time of finishing or just a leader of the race is recorded.

The race can have few stages: 1/8, ¼, ½ finals and the final. The teams should also think whether the material of the track affects the speed of the car and why?

OBJECTIVE: Stir children up, mobilize, “turn on” good mood and positive thinking, consolidate the material of the case-lessons and school physics course on practice.
