Accelerative Activities

36. “Create an insect” or “Draw an animal” (Case-lessons dedicated to insects and animals)

The essence of the game: Students are divided into groups of three; each group receives a piece of paper. The first student draws a head of an insect or animal (whiskers, eyes, mandibles, horns, trunk, jaws, ears, etc. – it is their choice) and bends the sheet so that the second student could see only where to continue drawing.

The second student draws a medium segment of the insect (animal). They add wings, legs and so on as needed. Then they bend a sheet on the same principle as the first player did.

All that is left for the third participant is to complete the picture, append either rear segment of the insect or the back of the animal’s body, add legs, tail, stinger or something else inspired by imagination.

Then the sheet is unfolded and the students see the whole “picture”. You can try to come up with names for them and make an “art gallery” so that everybody could laugh.

OBJECTIVE: Activate imagination, creativity, ingenuity, “turn on” good mood and positive thinking, teach team work and delegation of authority.
