26. “Renga” (Case-lesson “Poetic worlds of Lina Kostenko”, after processing of information about hokku)
The essence of the task: Students are offered to try their hand at the art of renga. One student-poet writes the first tercet, which means three lines, on the basis of hokku. Another student appends two lines, after what the verse is called tanka (consisting of five lines). The task of the third student is to finish the verse with another three lines so that together with the two preceding ones they would give the tanka completely different meaning.
OBJECTIVE: Activate imagination, creativity, ingenuity, feeling for language, literacy and speaking skills, with simultaneous consolidation of the case-lesson’s and school curriculum material.
