Usually boring school cases are not very interesting, because they are monotonous. But as soon as you make these cases multilayered, with a rapid alternation of topics and with examples from real life, the children get transformed. For example, if a simple substance like water is considered from the standpoint of physics (density and surface tension of droplets), chemistry (formula H2O, heavy water), business (how much it costs), culture (pictures and songs), biology (digestion) mathematics (calculate the volume of a pool), then no one is distracted during such case. And the received knowledge is remembered deeply and for a long time. At the same time, competencies such as critical thinking, teamwork, entrepreneurial skills, creativity, choice of priorities and the ability to learn are developed. They make it possible to get systematic knowledge about the world, knowledge imbued with mutual connections, “parallels and intersections”, to create a holistic picture of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. In the same way, information on topics of energy, oil, cosmos and other phenomena is “beaded” systematically and in a multilayered form. And it is done this way for all ages and in many languages. E – Elementary (age 6-10); S/M – Secondary/Middle (age 11-15); S/M+H – Secondary/Middle+High (age 11-18); H – High (age 16-18+). |
